This is a rig that was at a recent auto show. It was supposed to look like it was moving while it was sitting still.
Looks like they took some ques from a wind tunnel test. We are thinking more about the front shape of the Speedwagen. Sub Sonic nose's don't need to be pointed to be effecient. We are finding some interesting shapes that are being determined by looking at Detroit's CFD design outputs. We need some CFD software to add to our Solidworks package, so we can confirm our hunches.

Speedball Olson
The latest addition to our list of "Wageneers" is our friend Jim Olson. Jim is an Electrical Engineer extraordinaire. Along with making sure our electronics are top notch, he also offered to bring his "Big Ole Penske Truck" to haul our show to the Salt! Just like it takes a village to raise a Child-----It takes a lot of friends to get to Bonneville!

Where's Waldo?
The Speedwagen has a new patient in Bay 2. A T-bird Supercoupe has blow its self up! By the size of the cloud of smoke billowing from the pipes, it looks like there is waa waa in the wong place. These things are known for their appetite for head gaskets. Notice in the picture above, there is no sign of the long block or Waldo. I know there is an engine in there some where. If the engine is cracked, this may be the first supercoupe to have a small block Chevy stuffed in the engine bay. That's a part of the fun we have around here. The Hot Rod Spirit is alive and well at the Speedwagen ( I wonder if that lil huffer would work on the scoobie motor?)

SPEEDWAGEN Roomate
The SPEEDWAGEN has several motorized roomates. This one is a 53 Chevy 1/2 ton that is getting some resto work done. We have a bunch of goodies to freshen this ride up with. J.W. has been stashing parts in a pile for this ride for several years. We finally hit critical mass on the parts pile, so another ole Chevy will have been rescued from obscurity under a tarp. As you can tell we are a non-denominational shop--if it has wheels and a motor, it's cool with us.

Get SALTY
This is a Salty Rod that is in a parking lot at a hotel that is just across the Utah state line, in
Nevada. As you see, your ride can get all salty from a day running around on the salt. This is why the car rental company's will not allow rental rides to go off road. And thats also why the coin operated car wash is full of rental cars at the end of an event. I wonder what kind of mill is in this Rod?.
