Garage Sell UPDATES---May 3 2008 Future Bonneville racers Mark Radtke and Ron Miller came and nabbed a a couple of Edmunds Sprint cars for their Vintage Open Wheel Bonneville speed racer project. Ron has a motor shop that specializes in Model T an A engines, so its going to be powered by a 4 cyl Ford engine. Dave Holman made of with a 53 Chevy Truck Chassis for his "BOBBER TRUCK" project. I'm sure Dave will be back, I saw him eyeballing a 350 with a Muncie hanging off the rear. Hurry on down for your chunk of Speedwagen collectable stuff! There is still a VW Bug funny car Body and a 38 Fiat altered body, along with all kinds of VW do-dads that need new homes. ------May 13 update---the Fiat Topolino has found a new home in Canada! It headed across the Border tonight.

May 17th update----WOW, stuff is flying out the doors! Wild Man Dave snatched the chopped fiberglass oval body. Who knows what he will build with this--(Any body with a Chevy V8 on his push mower is hard to predict..)--So Hurry On Down and buy some Speedwagen STUFF for your project pile!.

You can back of the heat, and and when the base metal starts to glow push in some rod. It stands in a puddle, and the crud comes to the top---them bloop!--it sucks into the base metal.

Our Security Chief "Mr Gorn", http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorn caught an intruder trying to make off with the last of the Speedwagen T-Shirts. We will get some more made, and stick them in the e-bay store, so all you Wageneers out there can proudly fly the Speedwagen Colors. WARNING-- we have put transporter beam disruption technology in the shop, so any future "away team" attempts to nab T-shirts will be futile. We have worked out a prisoner release deal with Star Fleet, so don't be surprised when the Speedwagen shows up with some "warp" capabilities.

Another Piece of the Pie.

Fillmore came along with Von Chop to keep an eye on the fit of things.

A pie shaped piece was harvested from the donor car, and fitted into the gap in the rear of the Speedwagen roof.

Now its time to fire up the "Big Blue Meanie", and tack it place

Out of body Experience

The SPEEDWAGEN Chassis waits patiently for a Body to hide its innards with. For the time being the yellow funny car hangs above, just to offer hope that tin is on the way-------

Crazy quilt

The B pillars are being roughed in to the body shell, a lot of tweakin' and fidelin' going on to get the pieces to match up. When you step back and look at the thing it looks like a metal crazy quilt.

Third Hand Stuff

When you work under the cover of DARKNESS like Baron Von Chop, you have to figure out how to get a third hand to hold things in place. From the Von Chop trick bag comes Butt Joint clamps and Swivel Magnets. These swivel magnets are finger squishers, they will clamp you to the car if your not careful. The new as seen on TV welding gizmo was used to weld up the rear seam of the top. It takes a little getting used to, but it sure is handy for out of position welding. In snooping around Von Chops stuff I also found out that he has a magnifying lens inserted inside his welding helmet----sneaky
